sir,

With reference to your letter of the 1st instant 57523/16 in which you transmitted copy of a telegram from the Officer Administering the Government of Hong Kong relative to the export of Ginger to Holland, I am instructed by the Director of the War Trade Department to state for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies that at the request of the Minister of Blockade, an embargo has been imposed until further notice on the export of Spices to Holland.
I am accordingly to suggest that permission for the export of the consignment in question should not
be granted.
I am,
Sir,
Your obedient Servant,

The Under Secretary of State,
